Alpha Chapter at Logan University College of Chiropractic
About Us
Chapter History

In 1979, four women along with the brothers of the Kappa Chapter of Delta Sigma Chi, or Doctors of Straight Chiropractic, developed the Alpha Chapter of Omega Sigma Phi at Logan College of Chiropractic. Their vision was a network of empowered chiropractic women, an organization that would uphold the principles of straight chiropracTIC. On January 30th, 1999, the Beta Chapter of Omega Sigma Phi was born at Life University. Continuing our vision of an organization that bonds women together on the campuses of all chiropractic schools and all around the world, the Gamma Chapter of Omega Sigma Phi was established at Life Chiropractic College West on May 18th, 2000.

The Meaning of Omega Sigma Phi

Omega is known as the point where everything comes together, where the spiritual meets the physical. It is the continuous cycle. It also signifies a difficult process or the bloom of youth.
Sigma is the symbol of speaking plainly or speaking your truth. It means to stand fast and hold your ground as it is appropriate.
Phi means to overcome obstacles. It also means to take responsibility for your actions or inactions; don’t blame God, the universe, fate, society, or nature for your own failings.
These letters express who we are as an organization. Their meanings are interlaced with our purpose as chiropractors, and ourselves as women.

The Vision of Omega Sigma Phi
As members of Omega Sigma Phi sorority, we hold ourselves to high standards and are expected to be role models, not only for other women, but chiropractic students in general. Every organization is guided by a mission. We feel very strongly about ours…
